2025 has been a big year for Holdson, and an important one for where the business is heading next.
Over the past 12 months, we’ve moved from building momentum to seeing that momentum turn into real commercial and technical traction. Much more of our time is now spent working directly with customers on live requirements, real parts and production-focused evaluations.
One of the most significant steps this year was closing major commercial activity, including bringing electroform® technology in house with Additive Manufacturing Solutions. Wins like this matter because they show confidence in the technology beyond trials, and a shift towards long-term, production use.
We also secured £1.5m in investment during 2025. This has strengthened our position and allowed us to continue scaling responsibly, investing in both product development and the team needed to support customers properly.
Internationally, 2025 saw us spend more time engaging with partners and organisations outside the UK. Activity across Canada, Singapore, Germany and the Netherlands, alongside acceptance onto Innovate UK Global Incubator Programmes, helped us build stronger global relationships and better understand how electroform® fits into different industrial and regulatory contexts.

Industry engagement continued to play a key role throughout the year. 2025 marked our third consecutive year at Formnext, where conversations increasingly focused on application detail, validation and deployment rather than high-level capability. We also launched our new Holdson website, improving how we present the technology, our case studies and our wider roadmap.
Behind the scenes, a lot of effort went into strengthening the foundations of the business. We expanded the team with key senior and technical hires, bringing in additional capability across leadership, research and delivery. This has been critical in supporting a growing number of technical discussions, demos and evaluations.
Collaboration remained central to our approach. Throughout the year, we continued to work closely with academic and industrial partners across aerospace, energy, nuclear, automotive and medical sectors. A highlight was announcing a fully funded PhD project with the University of Leeds, reinforcing our long-term commitment to research and deeper understanding of electrochemical polishing and surface performance.
From a technology perspective, 2025 saw continued progress across electrolyte development, software and process control. We’ve expanded material capability, improved consistency and cycle times, and continued pushing forward recyclable, non-hazardous electrolytes as part of a more sustainable approach to post-processing.
We also continued to scale our UK-built electroform® machines, keeping design, manufacture and development rooted in the UK while preparing the platform for wider commercial deployment.
As the year closes, the quality of conversations we’re having is noticeably different. The problems are harder, expectations are higher, and the focus is firmly on repeatability, validation and production outcomes. That’s a clear signal that the technology is resonating where it needs to.
None of this progress happens without people. A big thank you to the Holdson team for the work they’ve put in throughout the year, and to our customers and partners for the trust they’ve placed in us.
We head into the new year with a strong pipeline, clear priorities and a focused plan for what comes next.
